I just want to compliment you on the quality of your website--the great quality of photos/videos - lots of detailed information about each horse--as well as the pricing info right there!! Its a frustrating, waste of time to inquire and have to wait on horse prices! All of these things, as well as you being so attentive and prompt and accessible......makes Black Sterling Friesians stand heads and shoulders above all others. You get an A+++ in the sales and marketing department. But, best of all---you have the widest variety of constantly changing quality inventory. I know there's alot of jealous people out there----scratching their heads wondering how you do it---in this small friesian world. How boring is it to go to a website regularly and see exactly the same horses for sale--with no updating. Thats what most sites have.

Janna,
Aiejolt has competed at Woodside Dressage about 3 times and done very well. He also attend Pebble Beach in July and went up against higher level competiton. He came in 6th out of 32 on his last day. He is under training with Heidi McRae at McRae Stables at Portola Valley Training Center. He continues to progress under her care and it is my intent to have him compete as much as possible. Eventually I would love to put him in Fresian shows as well. He is a beautiful boy and draws attention wherever he goes.

MY NAME IS KRISTEN AND I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW IN CASE YOU DID'NT, THAT I PURCHASED MR. "F" FROM SHIRLEY ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO. "BOLERO", THAT IS WHAT WE NOW CALL HIM, IS THE MOST FANTASTIC HORSE I HAVE EVER OWNED! I WANTED TO BUY HIM A YEAR AGO BUT COULD'NT AFFORD HIM, SO I BOUGHT A WARMBLOOD INSTEAD, AND WELL, HE DID'NT WORK OUT SO WHILE HE WAS FOR SALE I STUMMBLED UPON BOLERO AGAIN AND WE WORKED OUT A GREAT DEAL! ANYWAY, I'M THRILLED AND MY TRAINER IS THRILLED BECAUSE SHE TOO HAS A FRIESIAN AND LOVES THE BREED. I'M PLANNING ON QUALIFYING FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS YEAR....WE WILL GO TO OUR FIRST SHOW HOPEFULLY IN APRIL . HERE IS A PICTURE WHEN I FIRST GOT HIM......

Update....................
Just wanted to send you an update on Gerrit and I. He is doing wonderfuly! He is definately the "Barn Star" to the point that I think I must put up a "please do not feed my horse" sign. After all is said and done, we are the perfect match, he comes to me when I call him and joins up to my shoulder. At night we ride to the indoor facility that I have joined and he never skips a beat, the perfect gentlemen. The local dressage trainers here can't wait for me to "change my mind" about saddleseat....of course. Thank you so very much for all your help and patience with our purchase, trust me it was worth it!!!

Gerrit, sold by BSF, was the 2006 Saddleseat Open Pleasure and Amateur National GRAND CHAMPION, as well as Baroque Gelding In Hand National Champion. Congrats to our Gerrit, and Leagh!!!!!

I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am with this horse.

The hauler led Wilco off the trailer and all he did was look around. No freaking out, no jumping up and down like we're used to with thoroughbreds, he just checked out the scenery. Charlene walked him to his stall, gave him some hay and it was like he'd been here all along.
He is exquisite. Absolutely beautiful. I'm thinking we should have a suitable companion for him.
And thank you so much for your impeccable taste in horses. Wilco will be with us forever. I just can't begin to tell you how incredibly happy we are with this big boy. We WILL be buying another horse from you

Hi Janna,
You were absolutely right. Dingshoff is just about as stunning as a horse can get! I can't get over that John Travolta strut either! What conformation, head, ears, movement, he is just like poetry in motion and we have been doing nothing much but staring at him since he came here Saturday. His coat, tail and mane are just incredibly soft and shiny. Dingshoff is settling in nicely and he is truly the most magnificent animal that we have ever seen!!!

Hello Janna!
Maike is doing REALLY well! Talk about a SMALL world...Maike's trainer, Janet, just came up to your ranch to look at some of your Friesians. She has just started Maike's training and loves her already. Janet wants me to find out where we start her within the "competition world". She has trained hundreds of warmbloods who have earned "ELITE" titles. Maike (who i purchased two years ago) is 16'2 with a beautiful trot and a gorgeous 3 beat cantor, so she wants her to compete in dressage. Steffen Peters (her husband) just won the Olympic gold medal in dressage etc. By the way, Janet loved your stallion (Ate) she saw on the ranch when she came out. Janet has the Friesian "BUG", and I am sure she will see you again:>

I have finally gotten a picture of Aldert and I to share with you and once again I want to sing your praises! This horse is, like so many of your clients, my dream come true. I have bonded with all of the horses in my life but never like this!
Aldert is majestic... everyone at our barn (including me!) is in love with him! He and I are best buddies and we have so much fun on trail together. I am taking him up the ridge behind our barn to build his strength :). When you assured me (I, having not met him) that he was an incredible animal, I felt secure in the fact that you knew what you were talking about... however, he is even more than I had believed he would be! I can't thank you enough for all that you did. You are truely a dream~weaver!! I will keep in touch to let you know how he is coming along. :)

Marten embodies everything I could every ask for in a horse. He is a willing partner, a quick study, docile, gorgeous, and even more that I can't put into words. Marten is 100% everything you said he was and more. I could not be more happy with this purchase, not only because he is my dream horse but because of the excellent service you provided. I will certainly return in a few years when we're ready to purchase the next Friesian. (I now know why people say Friesians are addictive!!) I have had horses for 8 years and have dreamed of owning a Friesian ever since I had the opportunity to sit on a stallion at Equine Affaire in Ohio 7 years ago : ) I recently purchased my first, an imported yearling colt, from Janna of Black Sterling Friesians. I'm absolutely in heaven. I have raised other colts, but his temperment can't be compared!! He is such a sweet and obedient boy. He is very responsive and a very quick learner. He spent the last 8 months in a field just being a horse but he acts like he was handled daily!!

Good morning Janna!!!
Nammen arrived, safe and sound, this morning around 8:00 a.m. our time. They had taken his blanket off because it was pretty warm in the trailer with 3 other horses. His fur is sooooo soft! He came off the trailer, 1,2,3 and began eating as soon as he got into his new stable. He drank and munched. He was in good shape.  We'd like to find him a different "barn name" but nothing has popped into our heads yet. I want a perfect name that fits his personality. I promise to keep in touch,
