Horse Description
A super choice for an amateur rider. This 16.1 hh STER gelding, sired by multi World Champion, Jasper, and mother's sire is the now PREFERENT Leffert, has plenty of dressage show experience with scores into high 60s to 70% at recognized dressage shows in Europe, with his amateur owner.
Nirvana has winning points in M level, which is comparable to our 2nd level (please note the video clip under saddle was taken when he was still L2 dressage). He is solid minded with trail and traffic experience and very smooth and easy to ride gaits.
If you are looking for a great all around horse to do it all then "Niro" might be a good fit for you.
Nirvana is actively competing and scoring well in 2nd level all breed shows, in fact, his last match was Apr 23rd!!! This boy not only has winning points in M level, but absolutly the potential to go even higher!!! He has one of the best canters we have ever seen on a friesian.
We like to import horses that are actively competing and scoring ABOVE 60% in their level, indicated by their winning points, which is 3rd party verification that the horse HAS to be doing what is required of that level.
Nirvana's combination number is 388029FO for his show record
This boy is 100% healthy with a new set of x-rays taken apr 28th and available for review with your vet.
The family we bought Nirvana from is the same family that bred him. He comes out of the combination of the ster mare, Hinke fan ´e Hameren, with Jasper 366, and was born on the 4th of july 2001. His family decided to keep the little deeply black foal. When he was little, the daughter of his family did a lot of imprinting, and nice things with him. As a yearling and 2 year old, he spent his entire summers with other stallions in the meadows, not far from his family's farm. When he was 3 yrs old, he was trained for the stallion inspection, after that he was trained under saddle and trained to pull a carriage. Then he was gelded. He was slowly and methodically started in dressage, trained slowly and correctly, and had immediate success at the competitions. It was obvious from the start that this boy was a phenomenal sporthorse. He was SO kind and sweet when he was away from home, at the dressage competitions, a FUN horse to show. In the winter 2005/2006, he was selected for the finals of the KFPS finals. In the summer of 2006, he went to the keuring and received the famous STER predicate. His dutch family was so happy for the colt they bred and trained. It was a double success for them because his mother, Hinke, became preferent, because Nirvana was the 4th star for his mother! Now Hinke has 5 star children out of 6, and will likely become DOUBLE preferent. In the summer of 2006, Nirvana was shown at the L1 level, and he had super scores. Wherever he went, at competitions and other places, everyone loved him..... he is really an eyecatcher with his long flowing mane and true JASPER looks. In the winter of 2007/2008, he was shown M-level (2nd level). Nirvana's rider says "He always wants to work for me, he is always happy! He likes to get attention from you, a very affectionate horse. I loved him so much and shall miss him even more!! I hope to see him again this summer, happy in the U.S."Nirvana not only has a lot of experience in showing dressage, he is GOOD at it! He is not spooky at all, and has a great personality. He knows shoulder in, haunches in, turn on the haunches, counter canter, simple changes, rein back, training half pass in trot and canter, and he has a very good extended trot...and just OUTSTANDING lateral work!!!
He is quite simply, BREATHTAKING. A fairytale come true, you will be immediately awed by his unbelievable long hair, and stature...this horse KNOWS he is the cat's meow!
A STER gelding by Jasper [our ster stallion, Ate's daddy] out of a Ster LEFFERT mare that has had 5 out of 6 offspring make ster, can't beat this boy's pedigree! Nirvana is as gentle as a lamb....stepping on him is like sitting in your favorite recliner, he is as smooth as silk, and a push button dressage horse. Light and lofty, with fantastic natural elasticity to his gaits, we rarely see a Friesian with transitions like his.
Sensitive and responsive, yet kind and gentle enough for a junior rider, Nirvana is a spectacular fairytale Friesian that only comes along once in a lifetime.
