Mariska is a lovely, Oege-Pref X Teake, Ster mare. I have been keeping my eye out for an OEGE STER mare, at an ideal age, trained well under saddle, and in foal....not an easy task. Oege-Pref is our most favorite stallion. He carries the Preferent title, due to the fact that he has sired more Approved stallions than any other stallion. Oege-Pref is no longer living [and it is rumored that the Dutch ATE this incredible legend, after he passed away]. We think it is no coincidence that all the horses we show and win with, on the west coast, have Oege in their first two generations (our horses: Black Sterling, Stormy Seas, Majestic, and Ate').
Mariska is NOT just a super broodmare with a TOP pedigree, but also a great mare to ride and drive. And check out her long hair....Oege is known as the "hair man" for a reason:) She stems from stam line 45, the same motherline that produced the Approved stallion Jochem 259 and Oepke 266. Mariska is super gentle with gorgeous baroque conformation. She has very low inbreeding, only 2.15%, making it easy to breed her to the stallion of your choice. She is an experienced momma, having had a beautiful colt in 2001 by Jelke, and a filly in 2002 by Fetse. She is in foal to the stunning "new boy on the block," the Approved stallion Ait, and will give you a beautiful foal in the beginning of April!
Mariska's manners are calm and quiet. Here is your opportunity to own an absolutely gorgeous, STER OEGE mare that is tall, has wonderful conformation, and solid training both under saddle and in harness. She has been known to take her former family to town for many a Sunday drive, pulling a lovely carriage. Mariska has super presence, character and is very black in color.
