Sterling Surprise [Sonny] was born on Feb 19th, the son of our breath-taking Jasper Ster mare, Beitske. We left the barn on a Saturday night, at 6pm, returned to check on the horses at 10pm, and were greeted by an already standing nickering fireball of a stallion, Sonny!! This stallion has greeted the world, and will take it by the horns. At just one week of age, Sonny is galloping, bucking, and showing off a perfect piaffe....we have never seen anything quite like this young colt. He is so tall, he has trouble ducking down to reach his mothers milk, whereas most of our foals can go underneath their mom's bellies for at least the first week or two, Sonny is WAY to tall to even consider ducking under his momma.
Sonny is sired by the very desireable Approved stallion located in Europe, Rik. Rik was the top scoring young Friesian stallion at the 2002 stallion test. Rik is by Oltman. He has an outstanding walk, and has obviously passed on his incredible floaty movement to his son, Sterling Sunrise.
Sonny's dam is by the two time World Grand Champion, and Champion at this year's Stallion Show in his age group, Jasper. Jasper is an excellent Friesian stallion who produces 20% first premie foals and a total of 76% 1st and 2nd premie foals. His semen is not available frozen, thus he is only available in Europe. His approved son, Beart 411, is an outstanding young stallion that was chosen as Top Five stallions in the world, at the stallion show in Jan. Jasper tends to produce compact offspring that can MOVE!!!....just like Sonny.
