Thistle is a real "allround" horse. He has 5 points in L2 dressage, which is comparable to our 2nd level, but he is already doing SOLID FLYING LEAD CHANGES, so this is really a 3rd level horse!!!! (for the price of a First Level one:) He likes competing very much...and how many friesians do you know that can JUMP and do solid flying lead changes??? He participates in cross country events, right along with other breeds of sporthorses, and a jump of 1.10 meters is no problem for Thistle. This versatile boy is also very nice and easy to drive for the carriage. Thistle is the kind gelding who likes to work for his rider. He is a willing partner, no matter the endeavor.
Thistle comes from a good family, it is no wonder that he scores consistently above 70% in dressage...his mother , Biente STER (on our website) is ZZ-light dressage [competing and winning at 4th level!!!!]. His grandmother was also Z2 dressage. Being a talented sporthorse runs in his family!
Thistle is the kind of horse that has 3 very good gaits, and will be a willing, kind, gentle partner, doing whatever you ask of him. He has EXTREMELY good suspension and action in front as well as a powerful motor behind. He has a big beautiful rolling canter and is going a solid second level, with points in L2 to prove it. He is suitable for novice as well as advanced riders, and has been ridden extensively out on trails. He has beautiful conformation and an incredible personality to match. He is sweet and calm, learns quickly and wants very much to please. Thistle has it all…natural talent, striking classic friesian looks and a wonderful disposition. If you are looking for a safe, sane, all around gelding that can go ANYWHERE, and doesn't spook or spin, and allows you to ENJOY your ride, instead of concentrating on what the horse might be looking at, then this gelding is for you. Thistle can be ridden by absolutely ANYONE. He also is a very experienced DRIVING horse, and you may drive him as a single, in pairs, and 4 in hands.
