Black Sterling was the first in a long line of Friesians that the Goldman's acquired from Holland. Their new premier show facility in northern California is named after Black Sterling, their first Friesian, and houses sale horses as well as their own Friesians that they have imported from the Netherlands . Janna finishes their various stages of training, getting them ready for the show ring, and sells them to amateur riders, hoping they will Black Sterling was destined to be star from his early days in the Netherlands . He was bred for elegance in Holland. A long line of predecessors date back to at least the thirteenth century with some Arabian blood introduced through the Spanish Andalusian in the 16th & 17th centuries. Through the centuries the Friesian Government has made many regulations in order to safeguard good breeding. During the last two centuries it has been bred pure. More Photos |

Our reigning World and National Saddleseat Champion is an 11 yr old gelding, Stormy (Jurjen X Oege-Pref). We originally imported Stormy to sell, but he was a little too "full of it" to be one of our Originally shown in Friesian under saddle classes by Janna, Stormy is now spending most of his time with 18 yr old Julia, and is competing successfully on the USA Equestrian "A" circuit, and winning with Julia in the irons, and Blu at the helm in driving classes. Stormy is registered as Ronald van de Zuiderwaard.

Sold to Saddlebred Enthusiast, Susan Swope, in KY! Ravello is PROOF that Friesians may be good at both dressage AND saddleseat! This 10 yr old Tsjerk X Ids gelding was imported as a dressage sale horse. Within 2 weeks of his arrival, Janna was showing him at the NWSA Fall Classic in Oregon and winning every class entered, going saddleseat! Who said Friesians can’t do both?!? They must not have met Ravello!! Ravello is just plain AWESOME!!! Look for Julia and Ravello in the Country Pleasure classes this year on the west Coast. |

He earned his “STER” status at the Santa Rosa keuring, and his motherline in impeccable: Ster-Ster+Pref-Ster-Pref. Watch for this special Jasper ster stallion in the winner's circle in 2008 with Janna showing him both dressage and huntseat!!!  |
We first saw this Jasper x Oege Pref stallion at the Stallion Show in January, 2006. Ron and I said nothing to each other, as we watched numerous stallions strut their stuff in Leeuwarden. Both of us, at the same time, said THAT HORSE, as we watched Ate demonstrate his extended trot, with unbelievable grace and that airy fluid movement.....WOW. We liked him better than any of the Approved Stallions! Ate feels fantastic under saddle, he is hot!!!!! A WOW. This 8 yr old stallion is one of the NICEST Friesians we have ever been honored to call our own. He was Amateur Huntseat Pleasure National Champion with Janna at the Grand Nationals in Las Vegas in 2006, and was crowned a World and National Champion in 2007 in the Amateur English Show Hack division, with Janna showing him dressage.  None of our stallions are for stud. |
