Janna won national acclaim in the saddleseat equitation division. In 1983, she rode her American Saddlebred, Warlock, to two world championships and won the National Finals in Madison Square Gardens. In 1992, she returned to the show ring to be named the U.P.H.A. Adult Saddleseat Equitation World Champion. In 1993, she was selected to represent the United States on the World Cup Team. Currently, Janna shows the 12-year old Friesian gelding, Black Sterling, in Open English Pleasure and Friesian Under Saddle classes throughout the west coast, and together they have amassed more than 100 blue ribbons in less than four years. In 2005, Janna will debut on the USA Equestrian "A" circuit with her new 5 yr old gelding, The Black Ferrari, whom she says truly rides like a Ferrari!

After Ron married Janna in 2000, he became a true cowboy and he especially enjoys trail riding the Friesians, increasing their endurance outside the show ring. Ron has even been seen showing Sterling in an occasional Western class! Ron, a.k.a. "Blu", is continually challenged by the intelligence,strength, spirit and agility of their Friesians. As a novice rider, Blu thoroughly enjoys his time in the saddle on ALL of our Friesians, and is an integral partner in BSF's ranch operations, when he is not busy running the Goldman Law Firm. Blu can be seen driving our horses to shows, acting as #1 groom, handling all our contracts of sale, and he served on IFSHA's board as an invited Board member.
